Frequently Asked Questions

When it comes to professional photography, there can be a lot of questions. Trust me when I tell you, the majority of questions I get are pretty common, so I've answered a few of those questions to help make life a little bit easier when planning your next session!

What should we wear for our session?

The best advice I can tell you is to wear something you are comfortable in. There is nothing worse than wearing something you don't like and hating your pictures because of your outfit! If you're comfortable in what you're wearing, it will show in your photos. 

As for colors, I suggest wearing colors that match or compliment each other. Try to avoid clashing patterns (like stripes and plaids) as these take away from your photos. 

How long does it take to get my photos back?

Turnaround times for editing can range anywhere from 2 weeks to 12 weeks depending on what type of session or event you have and what season it is. 

A typical gallery will be sent 2-3 weeks after your session. During busy seasons, like falltime, please allow 3-4 weeks to get your galleries back.  


Weddings range anywhere from 3-4 weeks to 12-14 weeks based on the packaged selected. 

All galleries are given in a digital download. After 6 months you will get a notification that your gallery will be archived and you have 2 weeks left to download. All galleries are saved should you ever need them, however there will be a $25 archive fee to pull them out for you. 


Do I have the rights to the images?


Yes. When you recieve your digital download, you will receive the rights to the images to use for printing, sharing, social media, etc. 

Allison Photography, LLC retains the rights to use your images for marketing & social media purposes unless otherwise discussed at the time of your session/event.

What forms of payment do you accept?

All payments are due at the time of your session. Accepted payment methods are cash, Venmo, or a check written out to "Allison Photography, LLC". 

Wedding packages are broken up into a payment plan based on the timeline of your engagement and the size of your wedding package. 

In the event that payment is not received for your session, I will not finish editing until full payment is received. Upon payment, your session will be added back into the editing que and completed.

Is there a travel charge?

Any session that is within a half hour of my studio space in New Hartford is no additional charge. Anything farther than 30 minutes will result in a travel charge based on location. 

Out of state travel will be based on the state traveling too and method of transportation, etc. 

Do you offer Holiday Mini Sessions?

Yes! In November I will have a mini session day which is available through an online booking link starting in October. A back-up date will be scheduled in case of inclement weather. 

Sessions are 15 minutes long and you will receive 15 full resolution images digitally within 2 weeks of the mini day. An additional 5 images can be purchased for $25. 

Mini sessions are $125.
